For Laboratories, Metrology and Universities

Most mills won't quote below 5 kg. That single fact makes reference wire awkward to source for the people who need the least of it.

Why we bother with small lots

A calibration laboratory might buy 50 kg a year — a rounding error to a 1 200-tonne plant, and an order that gets quoted last or not at all. But the same laboratory writes the method section of a paper, teaches the students who will specify wire in ten years, and is the reference other engineers ask.

If you need the supply described in a methods section, tell us how you want it cited and we will confirm the exact wording against the lot documentation, so the description matches the certificate.

Questions we get asked
Is there a minimum for a university purchase order?
1 kg, or 100 g for a sample at cost. We work with purchase orders and standard institutional paperwork.
Can you supply the same lot twice, months apart?
We retain a sample against every batch number, and we will tell you honestly whether the melt can be repeated.

Send the specification — diameter, grade, temper, quantity.

We come back with a confirmed lead time and the documentation we can issue for the shipment. 100 g sample at cost; orders from 1 kg.
